Hope Springs Water and The Parking Spot are partnering to provide water to quench the thirst of weary travelers AND bring Hope to the thirsty in the developing world. The Parking Spot will be purchasing Hope Springs Water for customers at its locations near Dallas, Austin, and Houston area airports.

The mission of Hope Springs Water is to bring Hope to the world through clean water, improved sanitation, public health, and hygiene education. One hundred percent of the profits from the sale of Hope Springs Water goes to fund water projects in the developing world, and The Parking Spot will be an important part of the effort.

"This partnership shows the value the leadership at The Parking Spot places on the health and welfare of those they have never met, those without access to clean water," said Hope Springs Water's Fawn Crossland. "I can't wait for them to have an opportunity to join us on a future trip to Africa or Central America where they will see firsthand the difference they are making by purchasing Hope Springs Water for their customers."

The Parking Spot has grown into the leading near-airport parking company in the United States by delivering premier customer service and amenities, including complimentary chilled water. But The Parking Spot has gone even further, earning gold medal recognition from the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) Project ICARUS for their industry leadership, action, and commitment to travelers, customers, stakeholders and shareholders served.

Teaming up with Hope Springs Water is just another example of The Parking Spot leading the way as a socially responsible company.

“It is an honor to support the great work of Hope Springs Water,” said Todd Johnson, COO of The Parking Spot. “At The Parking Spot, we support actionable change and making a difference in the world around us. We’re thankful that we’re able to support Hope Springs' mission to supply the world with clean water, while providing our guests the welcome home they've come to appreciate.”

Hope Springs Water and the Rotary Club are partnering to bring a water well to the Mateka Children's Home near Bungoma, Kenya.

This project has been spearheaded by Damon Donnell, who is the Kenya Country Coordinator for Hope Springs water and the President of the Athens Rotary Club.

Donnell was able to secure project grants from the Athens, Texarkana, and Prosper Rotary Clubs to build the well, which is expected to serve the 160 residents of the orphanage plus the surrounding village and farmlands.

The well will be known as Aaron's Well in honor of Aaron Lemmon, former president of the Athens Rotary Club and president-elect of the Prosper Rotary Club. Aaron passed away in January.

The well will cost about $12,000 and is expected to be completed by Aug. 15.

Help us save lives today!

The CDC says there are an estimated 3.5 million new cases of Malaria each year in Kenya and 10,700 deaths. We are working to change that by partnering with InJesus Global Missions in Bungoma County, Kenya to hold a antimalarial vaccination clinic May 24-27.

This clinic will inoculate nearly 1,000 people.

But it can't happen without your help. We need to raise $4,000 to support this lifesaving clinic. Please send your gift today to alleviate the suffering caused by this preventable disease.

We can make a difference but not without you.

Belize Award

Hope Springs Water received a Stakeholder Recognition Award in Belize last week. The award was presented by the Minister of Rural Transportation, Community Development, Labour, and Local Government. The award is in honor of the longstanding relationship between that agency and Hope Springs Water, specifically the work done in the Toledo District over the last seven years.

"The vast majority of the work and innovation which led to this award was performed and led by our dear friend and brother, Bruce Hinds," said Hope Springs Water Founder Dr. Ted Mettetal. "The award is a wonderful testament to Bruce’s heart for the lost and suffering masses in the developing world."

The award was received by Daniel Schol, far right, on behalf of Hope Springs Water.

Hope Springs Water Day in Athens

"The mission of Hope Springs Water is to bring safe drinking water to those in need." Dr. Mettetal said. "We are very grateful to God that we were able to have water available to help the citizens of our city and county in their time of need. We thank all of those who were involved and who assisted in this great effort." — Dr. Ted Mettetal

What an honor!

The City of Athens proclaimed Monday, March 22, Hope Springs Water Day.

The proclamation came as a result of our team's work delivering bottled water to Athens nursing homes and assisted living facilities during the winter storm in February after historic frigid temperatures froze equipment at the Athens Water Treatment Plant, leaving the city without water.

"It is a terrible feeling knowing the need is out there and you're waiting for federal emergency management, waiting for that plane to be unloaded, waiting for a truck," said Athens Mayor Monte Montgomery. "You just stepped up and relieved us of that burden."

When the Mayor called Dr. Ted Mettetal to see if Hope Springs Water could help, our founder said, "Where do you need water and how much do you need?"

"The mission of Hope Springs Water is to bring safe drinking water to those in need." Dr. Mettetal said. "We are very grateful to God that we were able to have water available to help the citizens of our city and county in their time of need. We thank all of those who were involved and who assisted in this great effort."

Executive Director Bliss Nelson handled logistics along with Athens City Manager Elizabeth Borstad. Over the course of the week, 109,044 bottles of Hope Springs Water were delivered.

"It was a privilege to work with Mayor Montgomery and City Manager Elizabeth Borstad. Their dedication and love for our city is evident," Nelson said. "We couldn't have done this without the hard work of our team. None of this would have happened without the efforts of our staff and volunteers. I am so proud of all they have accomplished."

It was particularly significant for this honor to come on World Water Day, which highlights the 2.3 billion people living in countries categorized as “water-stressed,” including 721 million in areas where the water situation is “critical."

"Heartfelt thanks, again, to our Mayor and City Council for blessing us with this recognition," said Dr. Mettetal. "We look forward to working with the city to better prepare for any future emergencies of this nature."

World Water Day

WWD 2021.png

Monday, March 22, is World Water Day 2021.

World Water Day is an annual observance to raise awareness of the 2.2 billion people living without access to safe water, and that is a big deal here at Hope Springs Water.

"World Water Day speaks directly to our mission to bring hope to the world through clean water, improved sanitation, public health, and hygiene education," said Hope Springs Water Executive Director Bliss Nelson.

This World Water Day, we are working to raise $75,000 to buy a new double-axle drilling rig and fully fund nine wells for the Miskito People in our Nicaragua WaSH Zone. The new drilling rig is three times bigger than what we have now and it will allow us to dig faster and deeper, bringing clean water to more people.

We have the people. Our team in Nicaragua is on the ground and ready to get to work. Now we just need to get the equipment and resources to start digging wells.

Many in Nicaragua lack access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene services. According to wateraid.org, about 1.1 million in the country don't have water or face severe quality issues.

We will be raising funds from March 22 - April 9. Let’s get to work! With your support we can make this happen. Be a part of the solution and help us bring clean water to the remote areas of Nicaragua!

Houston, here we come!

Houston, here comes Hope Springs Water!

The bottle that saves lives is now available in the Houston area and Hope Springs Water has a motivated representative in town to help spread the message.

"I am super excited because we are bringing Hope Springs Water to Houston," said Fawn Crossland, "and if you don't know what it is you need to find out because it saves lives."

In its first 10 years, Hope Springs Water has changed the lives of more than 30,000 people around the world by completing 101 water wells and providing public health and hygiene education. Hope Springs Water also provides menstrual hygiene kits to hundreds of girls each year.

Hope Springs Water helps fund these projects through the sale of natural spring and purified water.

"We thought it would be neat if water sold here could help bring clean water to the developing world," said founder Dr. Ted Mettetal.

All profits from the sale of Hope Springs Water goes to fund water projects, which is how Houston can help make a difference.

"It could be huge for helping us with our sustainability model and the ability to fund programs throughout the world where we are currently working," said Dr. Mettetal.
