Hope for Girls
No girl should have to choose between her health and her education. Hope for Girls exists to make sure she never has to.
Our Approach
In much of the developing world, feminine hygiene products that many of us take for granted simply aren’t available. For young girls, that means missing school every month during their period. Hope Springs Water addresses this directly through our Hope for Girls program, providing reusable menstrual hygiene kits to schoolgirls completely free of charge.
Sewing clubs in Texas and Arkansas hand-make every kit we distribute. Each kit includes six reusable liners, two snap-in inserts that attach to underwear, two pairs of underwear, a carry bag, and a cycle chart. The kits are built to last two years, making them a sustainable solution for communities with little access to outside resources.
Earlier this year, we delivered 210 kits to schools in Honduras. By combining these kits with our existing water, sanitation, and hygiene programs, we are able to holistically improve health outcomes for girls in the communities we serve.
